Directions from Kona international Airport
After leaving the airport area, turn left on Hwy 19, north. The sign will say to “Kohala Coast”. Drive approximately 27 miles (past Mauna Kea Beach Hotel entrance) to the end of the road.
Turn left toward KAWAIHAE and continue for 1.5 miles. Take a right at the intersection before Kawaihae Harbor just after the Seafood Bar & Grill, stay on Highway 270 (as the road turns naturally to the right) Do not go straight toward the Harbor. Follow sign to MAHUKONA continue for 3.2 miles to the entry gate at KOHALA RANCH (look for flagpole on the right.)

Continue straight ahead and turn right at the 3rd roadway PUPU PLACE, this street is exactly .3 miles from the gate Turn left at the sign “MAKANA MAI KE AKUA”. The sign welcomes you to MAKAI HALE Bed and Breakfast.
